Artist Bio:
Painting and sculpture have been my choice for artistic expression. After receiving a Bachelors of Education degree in 1970 from the University of South Dakota, Spearfish; I taught art at The Allen Day School, Pine Ridge Reservation for two years. I then lived in Deadwood, participating in the Hunter Gallery Art Association.
I had my first mixed media art show (1970) at this gallery featuring both sculpture, and oil paintings. Later, moving to Hot Springs, I was the Gallery Director under the Hot Springs Art Association Gallery featuring monthly art exhibits. I constructed a multilevel art studio and extended and enlarged my bronze casting facility, providing custom casting as well as my own.
I have had several one man exhibits in the northern Black Hills, created four life sized bronze figures to be displayed at the Shrine to Music in Vermilion, South Dakota and created a fifty foot mural of historic events related to the Veterans of Foreign wars.
I am, at the age of eighty two, still painting.
