Exhibit Proposals

At Art House we’re regularly thinking about future exhibits! We love working with artists to provide them the representation they need. Art House Hot Springs invites proposals from artists for exhibition in any media and subject area.

Currently, our scheduling for exhibits is anywhere from 6 months - 1 year in advance. Proposals are reviewed and juried by our in-house curators and regional art professionals.

Not feeling ready for a solo exhibition? Gather a group and submit a proposal together. Each artist will need to complete an application, indicating that they are part of a group and the artists that they are applying with. All proposals are chosen with consideration of our local audience.

Please keep in mind that proposals are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and may take time to review. Artists will be notified once we receive their proposal and again when their application has been reviewed. 

Art House's Exhibit Goals

  • Engaging with our community by encouraging them to experience, interact, and learn about the art and artists.

  • Providing representation and exhibition space for artists, focusing on regional and emerging artist. 

  • To create a space where everyone is welcome.

 Gallery Space

Our gallery is located in the historic Morris Grand building, built in 1911. This beautifully restored sandstone building is across the street from the waterfall in the historic district center of Hot Springs, SD. 

 

We offer designated exhibition space on our main floor, while our upstairs gallery is reserved for our signature artists that we carry year round. If you're interested in becoming one of our signature artists, we ask that you follow our proposal guidelines and send in all the same information except a cover letter.

Cover Letter

  • Summary of your intention/goals for the proposed exhibit

  • What is the work/exhibit about? 

  • Is there a story/meaning behind it?

Digital Portfolio

  • High Resolution Images 300 dpi, size minimum 4x6”; Maximum 20 images.

  • Make sure to label all images with your name and work title (name_title). 

  • Images can be submitted flash drive, or electronically via file sharing service or email.

  • Artwork will not be requested or accepted until the application has been approved.
