Autumn dust settled long ago. The dry day burns out over ther earth's blackened edge along the frayed tail of the daay. The sky splits open. Black buttes line up under the longest, deepest slicing crack but end by sticking around. Coyotes sing a lonely duet from nowhere or everywhere. Not a breath of air moves. There's nothig left to say.
