Becky Grismer (b. 1978 Aberdeen, S.D. USA) was born and raised in eastern South Dakota. She received her B.A. in Fine Art from Northern State University, Aberdeen, SD, in 2002. She lived and worked in St. Paul, MN for several years before returning to South Dakota. Becky has exhibited her work in both solo and group shows. Her work has been included in public collections and can be found in private collections throughout the world. Her work focuses on themes encompassing our collective experience as humans. She is especially intrigued by our many parallels with the natural world, specifically trees. Through her work, Becky seeks to express the full range of human emotion and is becoming more and more interested in the narrative power and capabilities of art as a visual language. Becky enjoys combining and working with a variety of media, including found natural materials, ceramic, encaustic, and digitally altered photographs. Becky currently lives and works in Spearfish, SD.
